For the record President Uhuru Kenyatta has lived a privileged life that only a handful of Kenyans have experienced; born a prince to our beloved, revered and often feared founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. The “Burning Spear” was revered, admired and feared in equal measure going by the legends and historical renditions. He was not a perfect man, I concede that fact. But he was certainly the sober LEADER that had the presence of the mind to set Kenya on a solid footing as a viable thriving nation, an island of prosperity and peace in a troubled region. He left a solid legacy that’s now in tatters, ironically presided by his own son. And it is for these reasons that it is lost to me and I am sure millions of other Kenyans why Mzee’s scion Uhuru Kenyatta has gotten himself so far off the rails that his father laid down for Kenya and put the country such great peril. For all practical purposes Kenyatta is presiding over the demise of Kenya, an indelible mistake for which there is no known remedy but anarchy and bloodbath. I am sure Kenyans have their own questions for Kenyatta but for me, if I were to speak to Kenyatta directly these are some of the things I will tell him.
Mr. President, LET REASON PREVAIL. I want you to do some introspection, really soul searching, not as president but as a man. What went wrong Mr. UHURU KENYATTA? What happened?
We have never met in person but you know about me. I have also been privileged to know, interact and work with so many in your inner sanctum including ambassadors, cabinet secretaries and others over the years. I am not sure if we will ever meet in person given the circumstances and so I will just lay this here otherwise I will regret not having spoken up; I am very plain spoken and blunt and so if this gets to you I pray it makes sense to you. I was at one point and for a long time your strongest advocate and defender from miles and miles away from home; I was one of the first if not the first to publicly (at least in the Diaspora) endorse you for president long before you declared interest in the job (you had endorsed Mudavadi at the time). When prosecutor Louis Moreno Ocampo indicted you as a suspect who committed crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the 2007/2008 Post Election Violence (PEV), my heart sunk. I believed he had framed you and his decision was political rather than seeking justice. I still believe that and as we all now know, we have been vindicated. On the other hand, your Deputy William Samoei Ruto, deserved to be indicted and tried because he is personally culpable for the 2007/2008 PEV. As a consequence of the indictments, I took an active role in defending you and advocating for your innocence.
I can’t count the number of trips I made to the United Nations in New York, to the US government in Washington DC, the meetings we held and some that we helped arranged for you to meet with US legislators during your visits to the US when not even your own Ambassador could, the volumes of letters I wrote on your behalf to these entities, to The Hague, to the UN Security Council members that I personally delivered, I mean the list is long. All these things happened in the background, I did NOT do any of these for recognition, a thank you, favor or pay, (none of which I received by the way) I did so out of principle and out of love for you Sir. My late father (can’t believe I refer to him as late – God bless his soul) went to his grave a zealous defender and supporter of you, he went out of his way to lead a team of elders in Borabu Constituency in Nyamira County on your behalf in 2013 and for your reelection, he was campaigning for your reelection at the time of his passing, he wanted to meet with you in person but was blocked by those in your circle, particularly William Ruto. Mr. President my point is, it pains me so much to see somebody we put so much faith in and had so high expectations of perform so dismally as President and practically preside over the probable demise of the country your father bequeathed us. You are directly and personally responsible for what is happening in the country even if the wrongs are committed by your proxies, the buck stops with you as you know. You are the captain of the ship, right this ship before it is too late. It’s not too late to salvage what’s left, cut your losses, swallow your pride and so what’s best for the country.
APPEAL AS A KENYAN
I believe this applies to most Kenyans, they have been good to you Sir, they elected you despite spirited interference from within and outside our borders, and they rescued you and Ruto from the ICC and paid every penny of your defense and then some – at the expense of the country’s development. Both of you promised them a lot of goodies including 1) One Million new jobs annually, 2) five (5) new modern “state of the art” stadiums, 3) Free laptops for each first grader, 4) Free Healthcare for mothers, 5) World class transportation infrastructure and 10,000 Kilometers of new road network, 6) Food security and Surplus production, 7) improved security, 8) tribal unity i.e. a United Kenya, just to mention a few. Your record in office speaks for itself, NONE of these promises did you fulfil despite quadrupling the national debt. Kenyans only need answer ONE question, are we better off today than we were five years ago when you took office? And the answer is a resounding NO! Your reward to Kenyans was more corruption as cartels in your government siphoned public coffers for personal enrichment, ethnic chauvinism now reigns supreme in Kenya, UTHAMAKI is a blatant in your face phenomenon, so it shouldn’t be no surprise to you that there’s deep resentment in the country that’s only a hair-trigger from exploding. You can’t feign ignorance of what’s going on because you have been admonished, warned and alerted many many times and all these efforts have obviously fallen on deaf ears and so you can’t run away from this one. This election might as well be the trigger that ignites the explosion. And you Sir are the one fanning the ambers of anarchy instead of mitigating the damage. Truth be told Mr. President Kenyans are a smart lot and you know that, do not underrate them. Do not insult their intelligence. What you are doing trying to have your way in this election is a disgrace and abuse of authority – it will backfire. Don’t impose yourself on Kenyans through a sham election, it failed on August 8 and it will fail again, it is not only imbecilic but also dangerous. Do not allow one more drop of innocent blood to be spilled in your name.
WILLIAM RUTO IS YOUR ACHILLES’ HEEL
Mr. President the old adage that you can judge a person’s character by the company they keep holds true today as it did in the beginning. You have kept BAD Company not the least of whom is YOUR Deputy William Samoei Ruto. You are a well-educated man in an exclusive college in the United States, how on earth did you fall under the spell of a village boy who grew up and only knew peasant life? His mentality his crude and under-developed, he believes he can run over everyone without consequence and so far he has gotten away with it, how does that happen?! It is inexplicable to me! The inconvenient truth is that you outsourced your job to Ruto long ago and became derelict as President, you deserted your command. It is no secret who runs the Kenyan government, it is William Ruto and you are just a front. These charades are perpetrated by Ruto who desperately wants to be President in 2022 – it is the only way he can avoid justice for the atrocities and economic crimes he has committed against Kenya. Ruto treats Kenya is his personal property and Kenyans as his subjects, it is NOT and we are NOT. If, God forbid, you win reelection this year, Ruto would have run the country for at least 10 years. Ruto, a self-proclaimed hustler with a rap-sheet a mile long who hustles Kenyans, it is not me saying it, it is Ruto who brags about it, he says that you are a drunk and a womanizer, all we know is that you are distracted from your job as president and you are his proxy. William Ruto thrives on your dysfunction while the nation suffers at your dysfunction, Ruto has held you hostage and by extension the country, something has to give.
There is NO government meeting, contract, proposal, appointment in the national government that happens without Ruto’s knowledge and approval, NONE. He orders all security operations that invariably are synonymous to police brutality and end up in deaths and maiming of innocent Kenyans, Your inner circle are mortified by the man, some are even on the run for fear of their lives and you can’t even protect them from Ruto – come on now! Ruto is 8 years your junior, a juvenile in relative terms, a semi-literate conman who even tried to cheat the University of Nairobi to award him a PhD without putting in the work; an ungrateful man who has bilked the country Billions of shillings for himself. I will tell you what I told IEBC, don’t cut the nose to spite your face, You have relegated yourself to Ruto’s level and brought SHAME ON your family and besmirched your father’s legacy, you have invited contempt and ridicule from your juniors, you have turned the country into a circus stage Sir. Ruto has ruined your job and most importantly the country. There are many adjectives that describe William Ruto – a charlatan, a greedy glutton, a pervert, a psycho, an impulsive and manipulative paranoid schizophrenic, a primadonna, a conman, a crook, a schemer, menace to society, kleptomaniac, etc. etc. You have to figure out some way to reclaim your authority Mr. Kenyatta, that simple.
STOP INTERFERING WITH ELECTIONS
Again, don’t insult our intelligence, don’t imperil the country, don’t risk innocent lives, and don’t waste resources the country can’t afford. Do NOT pervert our elections again. “National Prayers” are no remedy or substitute for gross interference in the electoral process that you have perpetrated, this is self-inflicted and you can’t mock God and make it all OK. It didn’t work on August 8. It is a no-brainer, your interference with the supposedly Independent electoral commission led to the overturning of your “reelection“ by the Supreme Court, the same fate awaits you if you keep this up, STOP it while you are still ahead before you lose it ALL , Chiloba leaving just days to the “election” is a RUSE and it will NOT work. We know William Ruto is running the show but you are the president and you are personally responsible for his actions no less. Clearly you didn’t learn from that otherwise you wouldn’t be interfering again as you are doing, micro-managing the functions of the IEBC or as now known JUBILEE Electoral & Boundaries Commission (JEBC). Kenyans know what’s going on, Dr. Rosemary Akombe and Chairman Wafula Chebukati have confirmed what we already know – that the IEBC (JEBC) is a hopelessly dysfunctional appendage of JUBILEE that cant conduct a fair election. You can’t fool Kenyans all the time. So knock it off. Yours is a charade. I say let the commission go back the drawing board and do its work of properly planning and executing its mandate INDEPENDENTLY. Spare the country the agony and expense that these absurd shenanigans that you are perpetrating of trying to pull wool over Kenyans eyes – it is not only in Kenya’s best interests but yours as well. The next best option is the Supreme Court declaring the Presidency VACANT so you won’t be able to have the unfair advantage over your opponents and unduly influence of the electoral process.
INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT (ICC)
Unfortunately, Kenya’s elections are jinxed, outcomes are predictable as clockwork and left to their own devices, the political class never disappoints, they scheme, they manipulate, and they kill like savages. I am sure you are well aware the world is watching every move you and Ruto make. SO far the reported body count stands at 50 of known election related violence deaths including those of children and countless injuries. These innocent lives were lost needlessly in the hands of government forces, by government guns and bullets. We are angry at the government Mr. Kenyatta and at you personally. Like I said at the beginning I thought you were framed for the 2007/2008 PEV in the first ICC indictment and defended you wholeheartedly. Please DON’T let there be another drop of human blood in this election because I swear to you I will lead the charge to have you held personally responsible for the loss of lives, I am doggedly resolute that justice must prevail, and I am 100% certain Millions of Kenyans feel exactly the same way – we must stand for what’s right. You have ridden this rodeo before so I am sure it won’t be a surprise to you if it came down to that.
I want you to know that I don’t support Raila Odinga, I don’t think he should be president but with all due respect sir, your performance has elevated him as a viable alternative for Kenyans. You have given him tremendous leverage that you cannot reverse. Whether I support him or not is actually irrelevant, what matters is that his victory shouldn’t be stolen him no less than yours shouldn’t but more importantly Kenyans voices and choices shouldn’t be stolen from them. Your actions effectively deny Kenyans their choice and that CANNOT stand, we have to stand for what’s right, PERIOD!
